Gymstick H2O is the group exercise class, which uses the Gymstick Aqua fitness tool. It is an easy-to-follow water exercise class that doesn’t require extensive fitness or coordination skills to participate. Members can simply concentrate on getting a great workout, leaving the pool feeling successful and satisfied.
Gymstick H2O combines the best of both worlds incorporating hydrodynamic principles and resistance from the rubber bands into one simply effective workout! Gymstick H2O is easy on the joints and can even increase muscle strength and endurance due to the water's built-in resistance. This form of exercise is preferred by many as opposed to a more traditional form of fitness, like hitting the gym, because the weight doesn't pull the person down the same way a regular workout would. Therefore, a person can exercise longer on water than on land without the extra effort or the joint and muscle pain that often accompanies a regular exercise routine because of its low impact.
These six elements are incorporated into a functional workout that mimics the body's natural movements. Members will experience less muscle and joint strain as a result.
- Muscular strength
- Muscular endurance
- Core muscle activation
- Postural alignment
Gymstick H20 also incorporates the TRIOS technique, developed by Gymstick International. TRIOS are sets of three exercises that progressively increase in intensity by adding more fitness elements such as balance, range of motion and increased joint action. Members are free to choose the level of intensity and resistance they apply with each movement. Each section of the TRIOS is 30 seconds in length and this means that for most exercises there will only be enough time for 8 to 12 repetitions. This repetition range falls within the range that will most likely achieve muscle hypertrophy and strength. This is one of the advantages that TRIOS has over conventional barbell or muscle conditioning workouts, as these types of workouts focus on the number of repetitions to reach fatigue.
